Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS-SP) strives towards a better future for children. About the board roles
We are looking for board members with extensive professional experience and significant executive leadership accomplishments in nonprofits, business and philanthropy. We are seeking to recruit 3 board members, and expect that different candidates will bring to ICS SP a range of skills, experience, expertise and attributes listed below;
· Business and programme development especially in crafting sustainable solutions that break the cycle of poverty , violence and inequality
· Resource mobilization from private foundations, companies, bilateral and multilateral donors
· Marketing, communications and public relations
· Finance and risk management **
· Policy influencing and lobbying at senior level **
· Strategic planning and organizational development **
· Monitoring, evaluation and process improvements **
Time commitment
Board membership at ICS SP is voluntary and not set up to be permanent paid positions. Reasonable expenses are paid when attending board meetings and representing the organization in various forums.
Board members meet periodically (at least 4 times in a year) but also to participate in the life of the organization between board meetings, advising the management team and acting in an ambassadorial role for ICS SP. Board membership is for a period of 3 years (term may be renewed based on performance).
Our commitment
ICS SP absolute priority is protecting children, vulnerable communities and our own staff. We have zero tolerance of incidents of violence or abuse against children and other people in the communities we serve, either committed by our staff or others connected to our work. Successful applicants will be required to sign and adhere to our safeguarding, child protection and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) code of conduct and policies.
