Position Description TechnoServe is implementing the Economic Diversification for Ghanaians living in Ellembelle (EDGE) program. The EDGE program will improve household food security and economic opportunities for 600 beneficiaries by strengthening their ability to participate in selected agricultural value chains and supporting high potential entrepreneurs to launch or grow their businesses.
The Associate Business Advisor will support the agriculture component of the overall program. S/He will be the primary point of contact for the beneficiaries in the EDGE program and will be responsible for diagnosing their needs and developing a standardized and tailored support
Duties & Responsibilities – Associate Business Advisor, Sanzule will Maintain all relevant databases of farmer group details (Training, Input, planting material etc.) – Provide technical advice on good agricultural practices for vegetable and livestock production – Support all community engagement interventions – Associate Business Advisor will Support farmer selection and registration for inputs packages – Associate Business Advisor will Liaise with other team members for regular documentation of project learning and best practices – Submit weekly report to Agriculture Manager – Coordinate field visits and marketing linkage activities – Associate Business Advisor Support farmers to establish nurseries to enable provision of planting material for production
Required Skills & Experience – Bachelor’s Degree OR 2 years experience – Knowledge of good agriculture practices and experience in the vegetable value chain. – Proficiency in MS Office application – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to a competent Standard – Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with professionals and individuals from diverse backgrounds. – Ability to speak a local language (Nzema and Twi) and job may demand some weekend hours. – Ability to ride a motorbike and travel in rural communities. – Willing to live out country and enjoy fieldwork.
