Position Description TechnoServe is implementing the Economic Diversification for Ghanaians living in Ellembelle (EDGE) program. The EDGE program will improve household food security and economic opportunities for 600 beneficiaries by strengthening their ability to participate in selected agricultural value chains and supporting high potential entrepreneurs to launch or grow their businesses.
The Business Advisor will support the Agriculture Specialist to define and execute the strategy for the program. S/He will train extension agents and provide oversight and facilitation to ensure quality good agriculture practice training is provided to program participants.
– Business Advisor will Support Agriculture Manager in development of market system strategy to effectively achieve project goals and objectives – Support in building the capacity of vegetable and livestock farmers in good agricultural practices – Support Agriculture Manager to perform in-depth market research, identify and facilitating end- market opportunities for vegetables and livestock. – Support in the development of annual and monthly work plans for the targeted value chains in close cooperation and advice with the project team. – Coordinate and contribute written contributions to the project Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports. – Liaise with other team members for regular documentation of project learning and best Practices – Collaboration with the technical consultants to deliver on agreed terms of references (TORs)

Required Experience:
– Bachelor’s Degree + 3 years experience, Master’s Degree + 1 years experience – Understanding and appreciating the business principles, international development and our approach to creating business solutions for poverty. – Knowledge of the market systems, the environment Sustainability, gender equality and social inclusion. – Ability to work together to achieve results – Experience with a project funded by international donors – Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills a must; – Ability to develop well-written, cohesive analyses and reports – Ability to speak a local language (Nzema and Twi) and job may demand some weekend hours – Ability to ride a motorbike and travel in rural communities
