Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) – Child Labour Specialist At Plan International


The Opportunity

Plan International is seeking a dynamic, resilient and motivated Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) – Child Labour Specialist to provide technical support to Plan International’s country offices and partners responding to medium and large-scale emergencies to develop, implement, provide training and monitor and evaluate child protection and child labour programmes.

In this deployable role as the Child Protection Specialist you will be responsible for the overall implementation of a child labour project with UNICEF focusing on the provision of technical support to child labour responses and global coordination of Child Labour in Humanitarian Action.

The Individual

We are looking for a passionate and committed Child Protection Specialist with demonstrable experience in child protection programming in emergencies and child labour. You will need to have demonstrable knowledge of Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action including Standard 12 on Child Labour and how to implement these standards.

With a strong understanding of gender, inclusion, and child & youth safeguarding considerations in programming, including approaches for child labour in humanitarian action and child survivors of SGBV.

You will have demonstrable experience of providing technical support, programme design and proposal development as well as the ability to secure funding from private and public funding streams.

You will need to be patient, adaptable, able to improvise and remain responsive. With strong English language communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work with diverse colleagues in sensitive environments

Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice, up to 70% of the time.

Location: Flexible location, in most locations where Plan International has a legal entity and you have the pre-existing right to live and work.

Type of Role: Fixed term contract until December 2022
