Co-Facilitator, USAID/RDMA Mekong Safeguard Pause and Reflect (P&R) Workshop At Social Impact

Project Objective:

Under the Asia Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation (ALME) IDIQ contract, USAID/Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) has engaged Social Impact under a Task Order Service Request to design, organize, and facilitate services for a Pause and Reflect (P&R) workshop for the USAID and Australia Mekong Safeguards Program. The P&R workshop will provide a timely opportunity to explore how the collaboration between USAID and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) adds value to the Program.

The objectives of this P&R workshop are to:

  • understand what has worked well;
  • discuss challenges;
  • identify areas for improvement and appropriate directions moving forward; and
  • incorporate lessons learned to enhance performance of the Program.

Position Description:

SI is seeking a Co-Facilitator to work with the Lead Facilitator for this activity. The Co-Facilitator must have a track record of facilitating similar events with multi-disciplinary, multicultural participants. This is a part-time consulting position with a period of performance from February through May 2022.

Please note: Only candidates currently located in Southeast Asia will be considered.


  • Collaborate with USAID/RDMA to design an approach/methodology for the workshops and select/identify key l earning questions for discussion and detailed agenda.
  • Co-facilitate workshops virtually and/or in-person based on the agreed upon agenda, workshop objectives, and outputs, incorporating best practices and lessons learned from SI co-creation workshops for USAID/RDMA.
  • Assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the workshop, including presenting key points of discussions from the previous day(s), knowledge capture, dissemination of event content to participants, and sharing brief notes on workshop outcomes.
  • Work with RDMA to facilitate discussions among USAID, DFAT, implementing partners, and stakeholders to discuss achievements to date, lessons learned, and adaptive management.
  • Work with RDMA to facilitate discussions with other stakeholders and target beneficiaries (approximately 8-10 organizations).
  • Assist in organizing a rolling set of virtual or hybrid weekly meetings over the period of performance.
  • For virtual meetings, arrange appropriate virtual meeting platform(s) using an interactive and peer-to-peer approach for the workshops.
  • Oversee logistical arrangements as needed.


  • Master’s degree and at least six years of experience in a relevant discipline; OR a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated track record of facilitating similar events with multi-disciplinary, multicultural participants.
  • Extensive facilitation experience in Southeast Asia required.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental sectors in the Mekong region preferred.
  • Previous work with USAID or USG preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English, particularly in speaking and writing, is required.
