Consultancy – Report on Country Office functions At MyRight

MyRight is the Swedish disability rights movement’s umbrella organisation for international development work.The goal of MyRight’s work is to strengthen Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and their capacity to effectively advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities as well as to empower their target groups.

MyRight has currently country offices in seven countries. These offices will be closed down in 2022. In order to facilitate the adaption of the work at the head office, MyRight needs a relatively detailed understanding of the work done by the country offices, more specifically what has been done in support of local partner organisations within the current programme.

My Right is now looking to recruit a consultant (individual consultant or consultancy company) to produce a report responding to this need.

It is suggested that the consultant

• perform interviews with staff at all country offices.
• send written questions to all partner organisations (with the assistance of the country offices)
• send written questions, and an invitation for a non-mandatory interview, to all member organisations’ project groups. Groups who prefer a (digital) meeting must be allowed this, instead of a written response to the questions.

The consultant is invited to present a more detailed draft methodology and approach as well as work plan in the tender. This will be further discussed and agreed during the inception phase of the assignment.

Qualifications – Required skills, competences and experiences:

• Academic degree in relevant field (e.g. peace and conflict studies, international law and human rights, development studies or social sciences).
• Professional work experience in human rights-based development with a key focus on persons with disabilities.
• Solid experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge of organisational assessment and organisational structure in different cultural settings.
• Experience in drafting of research findings and recommendations.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
