RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing a cutting-edge research and policy agenda and stakeholder outreach strategy, working with the Senior Management Team;
- Working with the Advocacy and Public Information team to maintain and grow our external profile, hone our messaging, and increase our visibility across all media;
- Overseeing a wide range of high-quality written outputs for various audiences including well evidenced, targeted research reports, policy briefings, blogs, consultation responses, government facing communications and tenders;
- Planning and running speaking events and policy seminars, identifying further opportunities for external profile raising;
- Working with funding and resource mobilization team to understand and communicate the impact of our work on women and girls;
- Line-managing, motivating, and developing the Research and Policy Unit members and contributing to team’s objectives and KPIs;
- Be critical, but constructive; independent but well-networked; credible, but pragmatic;
- Be comfortable making decisions – we are a small organisation and rely on our senior leaders’ experience and good judgement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to meet all deadlines with minimal supervision;
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work remotely and independently as part of a team;
- Ability to manage complex and highly confidential information;
- Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple tasks and reporting into different project working teams and staff members;
- Excellent social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy;
- A high degree of personal organization and self-management;
- Exceptional relationship building skills as you strive to enhance our influence and the profile of our work across the world, as well as maintain strong relationships with our partners across the voluntary and statutory sector nationally;
- A knowledge and understanding of social policy, specifically domestic abuse and child protection policy is highly desirable;
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills;
- A passion for the women’s sector and commitment to effecting lasting social change.
