Internal Communications Officer-Volunteer At International Women’s Initiative


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

o Create an outreach staff strategy and activities to develop inclusion and participation opportunities;

o Maintain staff intranet;
o Synthesizes information into clearly-written text for staff;
o Solicits staff feedback to improve communications output;

o Implement and develop internal staff communication strategies, inclusion and participation opportunities in line with IWI objectives and internal stakeholder requirements;

o Write and develop leadership communications (which include new joiners, farewells, leadership changes);

o Support and encourage staff to support IWI’s social media efforts;
o Review, author and disseminate ad hoc Human Resources communications;
o Produce weekly bulletins to staff updating on IWI’s previous week’s events;

o Act as a welcome party to new staff members.

REQUIREMENTS

o Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team;

o Flexibility, initiative, and good problem-solving abilities;
o Multicultural experience and sensitivity to cross-cultural differences;
o Exceptional people skills and high level of proficiency in written and oral communication skills;

o Open to, and ability to seek out new innovative ways to increase IWI’s staff participation;

o Self-motivated and self-directed;
o Desire to work in a women’s human rights environment;
o Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
