APOPO is currently seeking for a motivated self-starting generalist with strong knowledge in various IT tools and infrastructure for the position of IT Manager.
The main work station is flexible but working in a time zone similar to Europe is highly preferred. The position is generally home-based with the possibility for travel opportunities depending on budget, operational, and training needs.

Who are we looking for?
To further advance our internal organization, APOPO is currently recruiting a fulltime IT Manager to start up as soon as possible. In this key role, you’ll make sure we are working with the best possible IT infrastructure, systems and applications to deliver on our objectives.
You have/are:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role and a proven track record in managing multiple projects and therefore also need strong project management skills;
- A broad range of technical knowledge of and experience with MS 365 tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, PowerBI…), social media plugins, solve hardware and software faults, online payment processing integrations (PayPal, Stripe), a good understanding of online payment flows… Experience with CRM and Finance systems is an asset;
- Strong analytical and synthetic skills and the ability to formalize concepts into clear models;
- Experience in working with an external hosting provider;
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, as you will interact with all levels of personnel, both technical and non-technical and you will be expected to train and mentor non-IT staff;
- The ability to drive change in an organization and a strong motivation to keep up to date with emerging technological developments, trends and solutions;
- Time management skills, you need be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment;
- Fluent in English;
- Cultural awareness and experience in an international work environment. NGO-experience is a bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the overall IT strategy;
- Ensure the stability and performance of APOPO’s technical infrastructure.
- Advise and lead IT procurement requirements;
- Provide technical IT expertise and support to the organization;
- Lead, maintain and support APOPO’s IT systems, solutions and services across the organization.
