PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
o Conduct community outreach to ensure maximum participation with respect to the work of IWI, its events and campaigns
o Build relationships with grassroots leadership within the communities we are active, so that IWI can provide the support these communities needs
o Assist team and Executive Director in incorporating community concerns and issues into IWI’s strategic and operating planning and campaigns
o Develop and facilitate relationships between relevant grassroots community stakeholders to manage the implementation of selected events and campaigns
o Develop and maintain productive relationships with various stakeholder groups, which will in turn create fundraising opportunities for IWI
o Develop and maintain relations with a broad cross-section of the community and coordinate communications and information flow to stakeholders. This includes fostering relationships with fellow NGOs as well as with those women whose human rights have been violated
o Work with universities to plan and develop IWI student groups
o Possible collaboration with IWI teams as it relates to community outreach
o Maintain a comprehensive overview of trends and developments on women’s human rights
REQUIREMENTS
o Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team o Flexibility, initiative, and good problem-solving abilities
o Multicultural experience and sensitivity to cross-cultural differences
o Desire to work in a women’s human rights environment
o Strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
o Must be able to speak and write about their findings clearly, as well as understand assignments and instructions
o Attention to detail a must
o Strong research background
o Comfortable making contact with potential guests and sources
