
Position: Project Officer, Neglected Tropical Diseases
Location: Kenya Contract: Fixed Term Contract 8 months Salary: Local Terms and Conditions apply
The Project Officer, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD’s) provides programme and strategic support to the project supporting the elimination of trachoma in Kenya. Taking overall responsibility for coordinating county level activities and some strategic national level activities jointly with the project manager.

Key accountabilities not limited to:
Collaboration with MoH to monitor, assess and adapt processes in line with the agreed SAFE strategy.
Submitting programme reports, aligning programme MEL activities with MoH systems. Working with multiple partners to engage in shared learning analysis and dissemination of lessons learned.
Collaborating with stakeholders and MoH to ensure support for dossier preparation, transition and sustainability of the programme.
Supporting the preparation of financial forecasts and activity based budgets.
Collating quality case studies and interesting new stories to advocate for the programme work.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Proven track record of experience in a similar level role within international development
Previous knowledge and experience of designing/managing health programmes at regional/national level
Technical knowledge of Trachoma and other leading PCT NTD’s
Demonstrable experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, programme monitoring and evaluation
Notable knowledge and experience of engaging with Government line ministries and implementing partners
Fluent in written and spoken English
Sound knowledge of creating and monitoring budgets and financial processes
Desirable:
Excellent communication and organisation
Strong literacy and IT skills
