Farsight Africa is looking for a Research Manager in West Africa to help in conducting and managing research and specifically monitoring and evaluation of client activities in West Africa. The Manager will be based in Liberia and will be expected to have experience working in the region.


The Main Responsibility will be to conduct a Monitoring and Evaluation of a client’s activities and communication initiatives in the 7 countries above and prepare the relevant reports working with a team.

  1. Plan and manage resources effectively, including financial budgets;
  2. Manage junior research staff and subcontractors (including market research fieldwork) as necessary to achieve project objectives, seeking best value at all times;
  3. Produce insightful research reports with sophisticated advice to support your clients in their decision-making;
  4. Contribute to the development and profile of our research expertise with clients and key influencers;
  5. Develop new business opportunities in line with the company’s strategic ambitions by contributing to developing and increasing our profile with customers and key influencers;
  6. Ensure that the company is up to date with developments in specified policy areas and research markets;
  7. Lead and support the development of new business opportunities, including preparing written proposals/bids for our prospective client;


  • Should have a Master’s degrees in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Sciences,
  • Statistics, Digital/Communication or a related field
  • Experience in project/programme evaluation (7-10 years) sample work is required (links acceptable).
  • Extensive national and international experience in assessing communication for development and social media-focused campaigns/projects/programmes.
  • Experience in the use of participatory appraisal techniques in data collection, sensitivity to gender issues.
  • Strong familiarity with issues related to migration.
  • Familiarity with the socio-cultural context of West Africa.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English and French (references and sample work is required

  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to predict challenges and proactively head-off obstacles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, innovative and solutions-oriented.
